Earth Science is the combination of several fields of science used to study the earth and the space that surrounds it.

We study earth science to improve our living conditions. For example, exploration of the land will tells us where to build a house. The location of new sources of oil enables us to continue to drive our vehicles and have electricity. An understanding of the weather patterns enables us to predict floods or droughts and prepare accordingly. Earth Science is a part of almost everything we do. More and more satellites views of the earth are being used to "see" the temperature of the earth or currents in the water. These views help people predict all sorts of things. Fishermen in Alaska use the satellite view to catch more fish.
