So often students ask me why we have to study history and so I'll tell you what I tell them. We study history because in order to understand our present we must understand our past. We must learn from our mistakes and build upon the solid foundation that experience gives us. It through the experiences of those who came before us we start to understand the bigger picture of the history of mankind. We share a common heritage and are an intricate part of the history of the Earth.
