
The Human Skeletal System
Babies are born with 350 soft bones. A great number of these bones fuse
together to create one bone. By adulthood the human skeletal system has 206
bones.
Function of Bones
• Supporting the body
• Maintaining Posture
• Protecting vital organs like the heart and liver
• Help allow movement
• The large bones create blood cells in their bone marrow
