When it was time to go home Jesus stayed behind. Mary and Joseph assumed Jesus was with his friends so didn’t worry much when they didn’t see him. When night fell and they still couldn’t find Jesus, they began to worry a lot. They hurried back to Jerusalem to find him.
For three days they could not find Jesus. Finally they went back to the Temple and found Jesus there talking with the teachers about God. Jesus told Mary and Joseph he had to come to the temple.
Jesus went home with Mary and Joseph and grew to be a strong and wise man.
