Product Overview : PMP22 is a major component of peroxisomal membranes in mammals.It seems to be involved in pore forming activity and may contribute to the unspecific permeability of the organelle membrane. Previous studies in rats revealed that PMP22 contains one distinct peroxisomal membrane targeting signal in the amino-terminal cytoplasmic tail. Amino acid sequence alignment of rat and human protein revealed 77% identity including a high conservation of several protein motifs.Human as well as rat PMP22 contains two distinct and nonoverlapping peroxisomal membrane targeting signals, one in the amino-terminal and the other in the carboxyl-terminal protein region.

Product Overview : Peroxiredoxin-6 is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox reg µLation of the cell; it can reduce H(2)O(2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the reg µLation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury. Kim et al. (1997) isolated a calcium-independent lysosomal PLA2 from a human myeloblast cell line. Product Overview : Peripherin, a type III intermediate filament protein, was initially described by Portier et al. Product Overview : Peptide YY is a short (36 amino acid) protein released by cells in the ileum and colon in response to feeding. It is also known as PYY, Peptide Tyrosine Tyrosine, or Pancreatic Peptide YY3-36. Peptide YY is related to the pancreatic peptide family by having 18 of its 36 amino acids located in the same positions as pancreatic peptide. Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MTRF1L in samples. An antibody specific for MTRF1L has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMTRF1L present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for MTRF1L is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MTRF1L bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
